December 2, 2009 Newsletter

From the Principal - I want to extend my appreciation to the Parents Association, in particular Ann and Marty for the fine work done preparing the Candy Cane Carnival this year.  Thank you to the many parents who donated items, food, and time to make the day so successful.  We all want to thank those people who came to support us through their presence and by shopping from our many fine vendors.  We had an especially fine group of vendors this year.  Thank you everyone!

We have now entered that special time of Advent - our preparation for the coming of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.  Each Monday, the school holds a short prayer service and candle lighting in celebration of this season.  We continue to pray the Rosary each Friday afternoon at 2:30.  All are welcome to join us.  The school will be attending Mass three times this month; First Friday, December 4th, Monday, December 8th (Holy Day of Obligation) and December 23rd.  Masses are celebrated at 9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church.  Again, feel free to join us.

For our Christmas service project this year, HTS held a food drive during the Candy Cane Carnival.  We were able to fill the bed of a pick-up truck with non-perishable food items.  Those items were sorted by our students and will be delivered to our area Catholic parishes for distribution to families in need.  Thank you for the donations!!

Our annual Advent Concert will be held on Thursday, December 10th at 6:30 p.m.  The students have been practicing for many weeks and will perform an exceptional program for family and friends.  We would love to have you join us.  Get ready for the Christmas season and enjoy many of your old favorites.
